چکیده

The present study was carried out at Sakha Agricultural Research Station in the summer 2020 and 2021 seasons. Ten forage crops namely, Millet Saudia Arabia, Selection Millet1, Millet2, Shandawel 1, Sudangrass Giza1, Piper black ,Sorghum SX-17 were evaluated for downy mildew common smut diseases yield some traits. Three cuts taken from seven fresh only one cut silage maize (95 days), Teosinte × teosinte (100days). Mean values of genotypes revealed significant to highly differences. had highest dry yields three total over two seasons which (26.4,22.3,17.1 65.7kg/plot) 5.3,2.8,2.5 10.59 ,respectively . For combined data millet Shandawal 1 46.7 kg/plot, 7.8 kg/plot ,while Arabia gave 31.3 4.9 yields, respectively, so surpass by 49.2 59.2% Also, sorghum, piper 19.2 26.5 % yield, respectively. Maize SC168 x plant height (298 cm) ,stem diameter (2.9 ,fresh/leaf stem percent(81%) (69 kg/plot) exceed 5.7,93.3,24.6 8.7% Meanwhile, 11.2, 16.0, 72.3 122.6%for percent ,respectively. hybrid SX -17 susceptible (s) disease on other hand pearl 2,3,Giza resistance ( R ) local millet1 , millet2 3 (Shandawal 1) recorded lowest infection disease1.666,0.000 1.333% also Giza 2.13 4.13% These tested resistant(R) can be used breeding programs as sources disease, In revers imported (Saudia millet) sorghum 20.33and 34.26, results indicated dangerousness importing materials. On hand, genotype resistant 0.000 first reading 0.666% second but (16.70%) infection. Therefore crossing between resulted moderate (MR) whereas, 5.966% 5.166% reading. As smut, disease. Finely, are better than Saudi millet. Hybrid best more twice (122.6%).

Silage from tropical cereals and forage crops

The preservation of forages by ensiling has been a well known technology for many years and is popular in North America and Europe. This technology requires high investment in facilities, accurate timing in the several stages of the ensiling process, and better understanding of the whole process than hay making demands. In addition to these demands, silage making and management in tropical cond...

Characterization and identification of Pediococcus species isolated from forage crops and their application for silage preparation.

Pediococcus species isolated from forage crops were characterized, and their application to silage preparation was studied. Most isolates were distributed on forage crops at low frequency. These isolates could be divided into three (A, B, and C) groups by their sugar fermentation patterns. Strains LA 3, LA 35, and LS 5 are representative isolates from groups A, B, and C, respectively. Strains L...

The Future of Alfalfa and Forage Crops

A diversity of forage species and forage ecosystems suited to different management practices exists in the United States. The future of cultivar development in forages includes the new and evolving areas of genomic and transgenic technologies. Genomic research gained momentum with the publication of the complete DNA sequence of the human genome and has since expanded to plant species including ...

Conservation Tillage Corn and Forage Crops

Several reduced, or conservation tillage (CT) approaches are currently being evaluated in Central Valley forage production systems. In theory, these practices reduce costs and minimize the time needed to go from one crop to the next. Recent single-year trials with dairy forage producers in Stanislaus and Tulare Counties have evaluated the potential of several CT systems and have identified a nu...

Assessing Impact of Anthropogenic Disturbances on Forage Production in Arid and Semiarid Rangelands

Forage is one of the main products of rangeland ecosystems, which is threatened by different anthropogenic disturbances. This study was conducted to assess the impact of urbanization, rural development, agriculture extension, road construction and industry on forage production in an arid and semiarid rangeland using InVEST habitat quality model in spring 2018. In 14 rangeland types, thirty 2×1m...
